Grow Lee - A continuation of our award-winning, highly successful Business Retention and Expansion project, focused on growing and increasing the quality of Southeast Iowa’s workforce. Programs include Lego Robotics in the elementary schools, career exploration at middle school and high school levels, STEM education, employability classes, industry tours, externship programs for educators, apprenticeship programs for existing workers, and more.
The goal of Grow Lee is to use the lessons learned and Synchronist data to refine our Grow Lee program to better serve our major employers in 2017, 2018 and beyond.
Greater Burlington Young Professional Group - made up of over 230 members from all types of career fields. Whether you wear a shirt and tie or boots and jeans, this is the group for you!
- We host nearly 20 events throughout the course of the year. Just within the past 12 months, we have hosted exciting events such as a luncheon with the presidents of Southeastern Community College and Great River Health Systems, had brewery tour social and learned about everything Doran and Ward Printing Company creates.
Intern Connect - In an effort to retain and recruit an excellent Lee County workforce, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Lee County, Keokuk Area Chamber of Commerce, Fort Madison Area Chamber of Commerce, and Lee County Economic Development Group have partnered to produce Lee County Intern Connection, a 10 session program, May 31st - August 1st designed to immerse participants in the intrinsic benefits of Lee County and the Tri-States. Local industries are encouraged to use Intern Connect as a recruiting tool for interns to come to the area.
Talent Pipeline: Programs such as Kidtek University, STEM Fest, summer camps and more help build a talent pipeline, teaching students of all ages skills needed for future careers.
